I’ve done it. I’ve actually entered the world of creating my own baseball newsletter that’s not a silly one. It was probably long past time for me to do something like this.
I am typically a longform reporter, doing a lot of deep dives into stories about labor and economics. In between all of that are random tidbits I’ll get from the field and report out on bluesky, but writing out skeets can only do so much.
So I’ve decided to create a place to actually write stories. Here, you’ll see quick newsers or stories from the field that doesn’t have anywhere else to go. Maybe from time to time I will do economic analysis of what’s going on in the league.
This will actually be a paid newsletter compared to my others — my goal with subscription revenue is that it will pay for an editor to ensure all the writing is thoroughly edited and that it will offset any costs associated with being an independent journalist.
I hope you enjoy, or get mad about whatever I’ve reported on, because yes, things such as causing Pat McAfee to short circuit or asking Mark DeRosa about the troops will end up in this newsletter.
